In my role as a Graphic Design and Brand Manager for Oregon Metro, I have been tasked with modernizing creative assets to align with the organization's new brand and ensuring that all materials comply with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards. I am working closely with leadership and internal teams to ensure designs meet the goals of varying departments, ranging from Parks and Recreation to Waste Prevention, while remaining true to the overarching brand.
Zoom and Microsoft Teams Backgrounds
Metro staff are passionate about the work they do in service of the community. As part of their new brand launch, I was asked to design unique Zoom backgrounds for each branch of the organization that highlight the new brand look and feel. The designs featured icons and photographs depicting the different departments, and areas of the community served by Metro's dedicated, passionate, and fun employees.
Branded, Accessible Social Media Templates and Adobe Express Brand Kit
Metro needed a cohesive set of social media templates that could keep everything on brand while easing the workload for their busy comms staff. I built a brand kit and template system in Adobe Express that staff could easily use, ensuring every post reflected Metro’s look and feel. Templates ensured that all pertinent images and information fell within the safe-zone on all social platforms, so no information went missing when being viewed on screens of all types and sizes.
Each design was built to meet WCAG accessibility standards, so people of all abilities could access and engage with Metro’s content. Flexible, bold, and scroll-stopping, the system gave teams a fast, user-friendly way to create eye-catching posts while maintaining brand cohesion across departments and platforms.
